Inception

This post will be less than 500 words. I am determined. ^_^ It’s 11:00 PM here, and I want to be listening to Harry Potter cuddled in my bed soon.

So today I went to see Inception at the Odeon, and it was spectacular. 3 1/2 stars from me, I absolutely loved it! The entire time I was envying the screenwriter for his/her abundant cleverness.

Today was a lot of poetry reading, to be honest. I’m venturing into a world full of new writing styles and ideas, and I’m slightly taken aback by how powerful poetry really is. Lots of work to do in the class, of course. I’ve got two presentations this week, one on a poet (my poet is Billy Collins, you can find his book called Sailing Alone Around the Room on Amazon, probably, and definitely read a bio on Wikipedia if you wish it) and one on a poem type.

We pick types tomorrow, and I’m hoping that I alone want to present on the Epigram, which is basically a short poem meant to be memorized by everyone who hears it because it is witty, funny, and memorable.

My favorites so far, to give you two examples:

And I wrote a poem for homework. For your reading pleasure (yes, yes, don’t laugh too loudly, you’ll wake the neighborhood) is my first ever poem (definitely not an epigram, btw).

& if you tell me it’s good, I will not believe you because it’s rubbish, so don’t bother.

& it’s untitled.

Anywho, I’m off now to go indulge in the wonderful world of sleep. Give me a kick around 7:45 AM Oxford Time, lest I find myself in another alternate reality and don’t realize. ^_^

[Yes! Oxford has its own time, although it's barely off London time and most people use London time, fun fact.]
